KINGWOOD, Texas -- On September 2, 2008 at 6:30 pm the HISPANIC EXECUTIVE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL in
Kingwood will have as aguest speaker Mr. Miguel Escalona.
Mr. Escalona is a very
successful Houston businessman who is now
retired and is the president of Proyecto Leo, a non profit organization
incorporated in the State of Texas.
The Proyecto Leo is an organization
that helps the people from Latin America and Mexico, who trying to escape
extreme poverty face dangers of all kinds and serious violations of their
integrity and dignity.
This humanitarian
institution currently supports three shelters on the US-Mexico border in the
towns of Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa
and Matamoros.
The volunteers of Proyecto Leo bring daily in those locations physical, moral
and emotional support to some 250 migrants, including many of our deported
brothers and sisters.Proyecto Leo helps
also other organizations in Mexico
and in the US
that fight issues related to poverty, migration, deportation and
abandonment. The project directed by Mr. Escalona cooperates with
institutions that give shelter to Hispanic children who have lost their parents
due to migration and to Latino women that suffer abandonment, abuse and other
consequences of extreme hardship.
The event of which president Escalona will be the protagonist will take place at the HESI’s premises at
4501 Magnolia Cove Dr. Suite 201
in Kingwood and will be associated to a lively social that has the purpose to
facilitate the dialog between HESI members and their guests.
