ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that Congresswoman Kay Granger, Congressman John Carter and Congressman Louie Gohmert have endorsed John McCain for president.
"I'm proud to be supporting John McCain's campaign for president because I am confident he is the only candidate who can lead our party to victory in November," said Congresswoman Granger. "I look forward to working closely with his campaign and helping John McCain carry the State of Texas."
"Texas voters who are looking for the candidate that best represents their conservative values need look no further than John McCain," said Congressman Carter. "John McCain's consistent support of our military men and women, along with his conservative voting record, offers concrete proof that as president he will work to keep our country safe, ensure our economic prosperity and promote the conservative principles we believe in."
"Though we have not had a terrorist attack on our soil in six and a half years, Democrats Clinton and Obama promise a change," said Congressman Gohmert. "John McCain is the only candidate whose oath to protect us against all enemies, foreign and domestic, is a matter of historically proven fact and not an empty promise. Anyone who has reservations needs to know that it's time to unite in support of John McCain for the good of this great country."
John McCain thanked the Members of Congress for their support, stating, "I'm very pleased to add Kay, John and Louie to our growing list of supporters. They are leaders in the House of Representatives and I will work closely with them on issues that are important to the people of Texas."
Elected in 1996, Congresswoman Granger represents the 12th District of Texas. Congressman Carter was elected in 2002 to represent Texas' 31st Congressional District. Congressman Gohmert serves the people of Texas' First Congressional District, in the eastern portion of the state.
